This is a 40,000 sq. foot  composite steel office building structure connected to the adjacent historical buildings with an intricate system of steel catwalk structures.

120 Piedmont is Officially a Go!

The 120 Piedmont project, also known as Georgia State Student Housing, is ready to begin construction!

This 26 story, high rise in Downtown Atlanta consists of flat plate post tensioned concrete slabs, reinforced concrete shear walls, and a deep foundation using 18″ diameter auger cast piles.

Rolfe Street Retaining Structures Progress

Here is a good picture showing the extents of the retaining structures for our Gables at N. Rolfe Street project in Arlington, Virginia.

Rolfe St. is a three building development with two residential buildings (approximately 403,000 square feet) with 395 housing units and a county transitional living facility with 14 housing units (approximately 16,500 square feet).  There is also an approximately 8,000 square-foot park on the site.

Building A is an 8 story cast in place concrete podium structure with timber framed units above.  Building B is a 13 story cast in place concrete high rise tower.   The transitional living facility is a 5 story cast in place concrete podium structure with timber framed units above.   All the buildings have significant retaining and subterranean structures.

Check out some recent construction photos for our Bainbridge Southend Apartment project in Charlotte, NC!

Bainbridge Southend is a seven story building with 5 levels of Type III timber construction over 2 levels of cast in place post tensioned concrete parking and retail. This 200 unit building is located on South Boulevard and directly adjacent to the Lynx Blue Light Rail line.  This project features an elevated pool deck, roof terrace, and town home units in addition to the apartment units.  Construction is expected to be complete in the summer of 2018!

Solis Berewick Apartments Now Complete

EM Structural‘s Solis Berewick Apartment project in Charlotte, NC is now complete and open for business!

This project consisted of 275 units spread over four buildings.  Three buildings were 4-5 story split levels and one building was 4 levels.  A clubhouse was integrated into the lowest level of four story building with steel transfer framing.

601 Meeting Street Update

Check out this drone video of the construction progress of our 601 Meeting Street project in Charleston, SC.

601 Meeting St. is a Type III timber residential structure over 2 elevated levels of post tensioned concrete slab and a post tensioned concrete structural slab on grade.  The retail spaces were several feet below flood level, so an intricate system of structural slabs and removable waterproofing systems were integrated into the design.
