The 4-building Alexan Crossroads project consists of 314 apartment units in three and four-story, garden style buildings located in Orlando, FL. The development also includes a pool, fitness, game room, and common areas.
The buildings are Type V wood structures with wood floor and roof trusses spanning between wood framed bearing walls. Steel transfer framing was incorporated to create larger open spaces at the ground level to accommodate amenity functions. OSB and gypsum sheathed wood framed shear walls resist lateral loads. The structure bears on a post tensioned slab on grade and shallow concrete spread footings cast integrally with the slab on grade.
