Broadstone Bryant Park

Located in the up and coming FreeMoreWest district of Charlotte, North Carolina; Broadstone Bryant Park is a 345-unit project that consists of 4 buildings with 4 and 5 story Type V-A residential wood framed construction and a 2 story stand alone clubhouse.

The elevation changes on this site necessitated the use of extensive cast in place retaining walls.  Basement walls were used inside the building structures while cantilevered retaining walls were used around the site.

Gypsum and plywood shear walls were used for lateral support. The foundations are post tensioned slab on grade.  Rammed aggregate piers were used to reduce foundation sizes at the cantilevered retaining wall locations. Special slab release details were incorporated into the post tensioned slab on grade design to help alleviate hyper-static and shrinkage loading on the retaining walls.
