Buckhead Triangle

This project is an 18-story high-rise, high-end condominium in the downtown Buckhead neighborhood in Atlanta, GA. It is a concrete frame, utilizing post-tensioned concrete slabs, braced with ordinary reinforced concrete shear walls. The building is supported on auger-cast piles drilled deep to competent rock, and battered under the shear walls to provide stability. In the residential levels, EM Structural had to account for large cantilevered balconies to be sure that deflections were within allowable limits. Due to the layout of the condominium units, many of the columns in the residential areas transfer out at the amenity level, with PT transfer beam depths up to six feet. An architectural screen on the exterior of the parking deck levels required extensive detailing to provide support back to the structure at each parking level.
