This very unique state of the art distribution center project started with an existing 500,000 GSA warehouse built back in the 1960’s
The ceiling height and slab thickness were not up to current industry standards so we decided to demolish and recycle the existing structure & utilize the existing slab on grade as the new base pad for our new 6 inch slab. The new steel structure was spaced at a 50ft by 50ft bays that were 32ft clear to the underside of the joists. Solid concrete tilt-wall panels were used for the exterior of the building.
Exterior shear walls and interior chevron braces were utilized for the lateral framing system.
Shallow spread footings were used to support the new steel structure. The project was nominated for 2016 Best of the Best projects by American General Contractors Association of Georgia.
