Located in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta, Georgia, this project consisted of both type III (five-story) and type V (four-story, and 4/5 split) multifamily residential structures, and a six-story precast parking garage.
The residential building was split into five separate structures, one of which was type III construction. Two of the five residential buildings are supported by a two-story tall concrete podium slab. Multiple retail spaces and some of the residential amenity areas are provided below the podium slabs. The remaining three buildings are supported on conventional concrete slabs on grade.
The foundations supporting the residential building are shallow foundations on native soils and engineered fill. The parking garage is also supported on shallow foundations, though rammed aggregate piers were installed to improve the bearing capacity of the soil. The precast parking deck also contains an underground detention vault
