Solis Berewick

The Solis Berewick project consists of 275 apartment units in four wood framed buildings in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The development also includes a pool, fitness, game room free standing garages, and common areas.

The structure is Type V wood framing with wood floor and roof trusses spanning between wood framed bearing walls.  A steel transfer area was incorporated to create larger open spaces at the ground level to accommodate club and fitness functions.  OSB and gypsum sheathed wood framed shear walls resist lateral loads.  The structure bears on shallow concrete spread footings on native soils.

Three of the four buildings were four stories with a partial basement requiring  extensive concrete basement wall design and foundation step detailing.
