The Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library is a 48,000 SF building located behind the Thomas Cooper Library at the University of South Carolina. This addition houses the library’s growing Rare Books and Special Collections and provides a permanent home for the university’s S.C. Political Collections, which document the careers and contributions of many of the state’s political leaders.
The new library includes spaces for teaching, exhibits, meetings and public programs, as well as offices and extensive space for the collections. Additional special features include a spacious reading room, work areas for researchers, seminar rooms, mini theater, exhibit galleries, auditorium and digitization center.
