This residential structure is located in Charleston, SC.
The type IIIA wood-framed construction is supported on top of a 14” thick flat plate post-tensioned podium slab. One full level of parking on grade resides below the podium slab. A structured courtyard and pool is provided at the level 1 podium slab, along with amenity spaces and leasing office. The podium slab is supported on concrete columns and braced by specially reinforced concrete shear walls. The CIP podium structure is supported on precast concrete piles driven down 60-70’ to bear in the Cooper Marl below.
